Exploring Britain

The main purpose of the Fukuoka Women's University UK Study Trip is to enable our students to improve their English by staying in the UK for three weeks. The programme includes two weeks of intensive study at York University in groups of three or four per tutor. The students also have the chance to teach British students about Japanese language and culture, which also improves their own English-speaking skills.

During the final week of the trip, students have the opportunity to visit other parts of the UK, staying in youth hostels and meeting a variety of people. Through these experiences, our students learn to understand the English spoken by native speakers of different ages and with different dialects, and develop greater confidence in their own speaking abilities.
